February 1- 18 – The Freeport Art Museum hosts the 13TH
ANNUAL REGIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION from 10:00 am to
5:00 pm on Tuesday-Friday and 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on
Saturdays. The exhibit runs through February 18. This juried
exhibition features recent work by contemporary artist from the
tri-state region of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa; the exhibition
includes over 400 submissions in a wide variety of media. For

February 1 – CLASSIC FILM SERIES – TALES OF THE OLD
WEST. Enjoy the second film of the series. Highland
Community College and the Stephenson County Museum
partner with the Lindo Theater to present this film series
featuring classic westerns. There will be a brief introduction
before each movie and a discussion led by Ed Finch, Retired
Director of the Museum, and Alan Wenzel, former Speech and
Communications Instructor at the College, following the movie.
The featured movies are:
February 1 – Little Big Man
February 22 – Sergeant Rutledge
March 12 – Dances With Wolves
April 5 – Ride the High Country
Each movie is $6.00 (Entire Series is $24 – a $6.00 saving). All
movies are shown at 12:00 pm (noon) and repeated at 7:00 pm,

February 3 – CATHOLIC MASS – Fr. Ken Anderson of St.
Thomas Church in Freeport will be celebrating Mass at 10:00 in
the Manor Court Activity Room.
February 5 – SUPER BOWL PARTY – Join your loved one at
5:30 in the Manor Court Activity Room as they watch the New
England Patriots battle the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. It
would have been a better party if the Green Bay Packers had
February 7 – Do you remember in a Science Fair or showing an
animal? Come see what the FLORENCE CRICKETS 4H is
doing. They will be at the Hawthorne Inn at 6:15 pm displaying
their projects or talents. Let’s support our younger generation.
It is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
February 8 – Freeport Health Network will be at the Library of
the Freeport Estates building from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 am to
conduct a free BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK. Afterwards, enjoy
refreshments at the Village Blend. Open to the public.
February 9 – The GARDEN COURT ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT
GROUP will meet on Thursday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Estates building on the Liberty Village of Freeport campus. The
Support Group provides emotional, educational and social
support for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related
disorders and their family, friends and caregivers. The meeting
is open to the public and is free of charge. Refreshments will be

– The Stephenson County Historical Society and the Freeport
Public Library Foundation present this lecture series at the
Freeport Public Library at 6:30 pm. The January lectures and

February 16 – “Crossed Sabers: A History of the United
States Cavalry” by Martin Quick
February 23 – “The Rise and Fall of the Western as Art

Insurrection” by Ed Finch

February 14 – Come watch the coronation of our Valentine Day
King and Queen at 3:00 pm at the Manor Court building during
our VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY. The winners are selected as a
result of voting during February by residents and staff.
Refreshments will be served.
February 15 – FREEPORT HEALTH NETWORK SPEAKER
SERIES features Jackie Roach this month. The program will be
presented at the Hawthorne Inn building at 9:30 am. It is open

February 15 – THE K-9 COMFORT DOGS will be visiting our
Manor Court residents at 9:00 am. These companions have
been a hit on every visit, truly – man’s best friend! Make sure

Aquinas Catholic Church in the celebration of the LITURGY OF
THE WORD AND CATHOLIC COMMUNION service at 3:30 pm
at the Manor Court building.
February 22 – DEVOTIONS WITH PASTOR JAMES – join
retired Pastor Bruce James as he helps us understand our world
today. The service is at 10:00 am and refreshments are

THERAPEUTIC HORTICULTURE at the Manor Court building at
9:45 am. It is open to the public. It has been a great program
every month – don’t miss it!
February 28 – Join our MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION at 3:00
pm at both the Manor Court and
Hawthorne Inn buildings. Beads and refreshments available.
March 1 – Just a HEADS UP – UNION DAIRY OPENING DAY.
Union Dairy opens for another season of great food and ice
cream. From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, buy one and get one free on a
single dip cone. Enjoy this Freeport tradition.
