October October 1- November 4th – Found in Translation Exhibition at the Freeport Art Museum, 121 N Harlem Ave., Freeport.  Tuesday – Friday: 10 AM to 5 PM; Saturday: Noon to 5 PM.  Found in Translation features four Iowa women artists who create artworks suggestive of the natural environment without literally depicting it.  Suggested donation is $2.00.  See Teresa or Colleen to schedule transportation. October 4- Join us at Liberty Estates for Oktoberfest “Happy Hour”.  Event will take place in the Court Yard. Refreshments will be provided. October 4 – Classic Film Series:  The Class of ’67 – Hollywood Changes at the Lindo Theatre, 115 S Chicago Ave, Freeport. Two showings, at Noon and 7 PM,  “Bonnie and Clyde” starring Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman, Estele Parsons.  Cost is $6.00 per movie.  If interested please see Teresa or Colleen and they will schedule transportation for you. October 6- Join Father Ken Anderson from St. Thomas Aquinas Church as he celebrates CATHOLIC MASS in the Manor Court Activity Room at 10:00 am.  The public is welcomed and refreshments will be provided after Mass. October 12- The Garden Court Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet on Thursday at 2 pm at the Estates Building on the Liberty Village campus, 2080 W Navajo Drive,Freeport. The support Group provides emotional, educational and social support for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders and their family, friends and caregivers. The meeting is open to the public and is free of charge. October 21- McConnell Area Historical Society Spaghetti Supper. United Methodist Church, 211 N. Hulbert, McConnell. 4 pm to 8 pm. Public is encouraged to attend. October 24th- Fall is in the Air.  Learn about the nature around us as the Stephenson County Extension Office Master Gardeners (Nikki Keltner and Dorothy White) present Therapeutic Horticulture at the Manor Court building at 9:45 am.  There is also a presentation at 1:00 PM in the Hawthorne Inn.   It is open to the public.  Every month a new project is completed.  Please call Stacy Chapman, Lisa or Teresa and reserve a seat (815) 233-2400. Can you believe that Christmas is less than 2 months away?  The snow will be falling before we know it.  Every year we donate mittens, scarves and hats to a local organization.  Donations are welcomed. If you like to sing and brighten up others lives, please call and schedule a time to Christmas carol during the Christmas season.
